University of Warwick vs Stratford 1st 0 - 5
For the fourth match of the season Stratford first team travelled away to the University of Warwick.
Having lost to the university team in their last four meetings Stratford were keen to make amends having successively won their first three matches of the season.
Having been drafted in and travelled 3 hours to play for the team, Chris Whelan played out a very hard fought match at 5th string taking the first two games by narrow margins. Although his opponent managed to win the third, Chris held off any fight back from his opponent to take the fourth game and match by three games to one.
At fourth string, George Owen played assertive squash applying pressure on his opponent from the start, scraping the first game 12-10. Owen’s ability then shone through over the next two games to take the match.
At three, Simon Kemp continued Stratford’s form by easily disposing of his opponent in a similar fashion, winning 3-0.
With the match secured, Simon Johns at two produced a clean display to win 3-0.
Finally to seal a perfect display from the team, Richard Rosenthal at first string, ground down his opponent to secure a 3-1 and overall 5-0 win for Stratford. Having now won their opening four matches, Stratford now sit proudly on top of the division. Stratford entertain Edgbaston Priory next week with the hope of their excellent form continues.
